Position Overview
Our client is seeking a Counsel with 3 to 4 years of specialized experience in labor and employment law. The successful candidate will possess robust expertise in California employment litigation, including the provision of legal advice and counsel. Applicants must be active members in good standing of the California Bar or qualify for admission through a waiver process.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Conduct thorough legal research and draft motions, pleadings, and dispositive motions.
- Represent clients at court hearings and manage discovery processes, including drafting and responding to discovery requests and meet-and-confer letters.
- Defend individual and class action wage and hour as well as PAGA claims in both courtroom settings and arbitration.
- Respond to governmental investigations and inquiries in a timely and effective manner.
- Prepare, review, and revise employment and severance agreements, employment policies, and Employee Handbooks.
Key Requirements
- 3 to 4 years of hands-on experience in labor and employment law.
- Demonstrated background in California employment litigation and the provision of advisory and counseling services.
- Admission to the California Bar in good standing or eligibility for admission via waiver.
Location & Relocation
This role is based in the Los Angeles office. Candidates should either reside within a reasonable commuting distance of Los Angeles or be prepared to relocate.
