Trial Associate - New York
The firm is seeking a litigation associate with one to two years of experience to join our New York office. The ideal candidate will have one or two years of litigation and/or clerkship experience, with interest in working on a mixture of commercial, employment, trademark, and other intellectual property litigation matters.
This associate will have the opportunity to work in all phases of litigation, from pleadings through discovery, dispositive motion practice, trial, and appeal. We anticipate that this position will involve responsibility over cases in federal and state court and in arbitration, and we expect that it will provide in-court experience and opportunities to work on motion and trial practice. Specifically, this associate will handle the following types of tasks in complex litigation matters:
- research
- brief writing
- discovery
- oral advocacy
- depositions
- trial practice
- appeals
Qualified candidates will have:
- A JD degree from an ABA-accredited law school
- One to two years of litigation and/or clerkship experience, with interest in working on a mixture of commercial, employment, trademark, and other intellectual property litigation matters
- Interest in taking on deposition, oral argument, substantive motion drafting, and other hands-on litigation work
- New York bar admission, or the ability to promptly become admitted in New York
- Excellent research and writing skills
- Strong communication skills
- Top academic credentials
- New Jersey or Massachusetts bar admission is not required but would be a plus.
