Overview:
A well-respected law firm is seeking experienced Partner-Level Patent Attorneys with a portable book of business to join its growing Intellectual Property Practice Group. Openings are available in the firm’s Pennsylvania (Radnor, Lancaster, Pittsburgh, Harrisburg) and Maryland (Towson) offices. The firm is particularly interested in attorneys with a background in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science or Life Sciences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and prosecute domestic and international patent applications in areas including electrical engineering, computer science, biotechnology, and pharmaceuticals.
• Advise clients on patent strategy, portfolio development, licensing, freedom-to-operate, and due diligence matters.
• Provide strategic IP counseling for clients in technology and life sciences sectors.
• Draft and negotiate IP-related agreements, including licensing and joint development agreements.
• Serve as a key client contact while contributing to the firm’s broader business development efforts.

Qualifications:

• J.D. from an accredited law school; admission to practice in PA and/or MD (or eligibility to waive in).
• Registration to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) required.
• At least 7 years of experience in patent prosecution and IP counseling.
• Technical degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Life Sciences, or a related discipline.
• Portable book of business required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
