Salary: $150,000-$180,000 + benefits

A well-established law firm is seeking a full-time Mid-Level Associate Attorney to join its team. This is an excellent opportunity for attorneys with 5+ years of civil litigation experience, specifically in the defense of Automobile and Premises Liability matters.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage cases independently from inception through resolution
  • Take and defend fact witness and expert depositions
  • Draft, file, and argue dispositive motions
  • Prepare pleadings, discovery requests, and responses
  • Handle arbitrations and mediations (ADR experience required)
  • Prepare comprehensive written status reports for insurers
  • Conduct legal research and draft strategic memoranda
  • Collaborate with partners, senior attorneys, clients, and experts
  • Ensure compliance with court deadlines and scheduling requirements
  • Attend depositions, hearings, and trials as required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Active admission to the New York State Bar
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience handling Automobile and Premises Liability defense matters in New York
  • Ability to manage cases from inception through resolution
  • Strong legal research, writing, and advocacy skills
  • Experience preparing insurer status reports
  • Prior experience taking and defending depositions independently
  • ADR experience, including arbitrations and mediations
